It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve on Council for the last three years, ever since my appointment to the position in July 2011. I am a first generation American; my family immigrated to the US when I was eleven from Uruguay, South America. My wife Terry and I have lived here since 1995, and have raised three children, Joseph, Jacob, and Adam, who all took advantage of our great public schools. I owe a debt of gratitude to our community, so I feel it is a privilege to have the opportunity to give back through public office.

I have been been involved in many community organizations in Los Alamos, including volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, coaching soccer and the LAMS MathCounts team, and participating in several local committees, including the Los Alamos Employees' Scholarship Fund, the J. R. Oppenheimer Memorial Committee, and the local section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. I have also had several leadership roles in the Los Alamos Jewish Center, serving in a variety of board positions. Prior to my appointment to Council, I was a member of the Los Alamos County Planning and Zoning Commission from 2004-2009, serving as chair 2008-2009, and most recently was a member of the Los Alamos County Charter Review Committee. In August of 2013, I was elected to the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Municipal League.
